Amazing security footage from inside the bus shows a bus drivers heroic act – meet the hero bus driver
Bus driver Darnell “Big Country” Barton said he felt like it was what he was supposed to do, “I was supposed to be there for her at that moment and I was” as he stopped his Highschool bus to rescue a woman from jumping over the bridge.
Security footage shows him calmly pull over, walk over to her and immediately take control of the unthinkable situation
“She was distraught, she was distant, she was really disconnected,” he said. “I grabbed her arm and put my arm around her and said ‘Do you want to come on this side of the guardrail’, and that was actually the first time she spoke to me she said yes.”
After helping her back over the rail to safety, the McKinley students gave him a well deserved round of applause.
