Why is is so special? It was built for one purposes and one purpose only: NASCAR. As Jalopnik put it:

The short-lived Plymouth Road Runner Superbird was a highly modified version of the Plymouth Road Runner with well known graphics and cool ‘Road Runner’ horn. Yes, the horn which mimics the Road Runner cartoon character! Beep, beep!
