A 10-year-old Norwegian boy stole his parents’s car and told police that he was a midget who had forgotten his license when he was pulled over six miles later.
Euro Weekly News reports that the boy, who lives in a town about 70 miles north of Oslo, put his 18-month-old sister in the car early in the morning when his parents were still sleeping and set off to visit his grandparents, who live almost 40 miles away.
He drove a little less than seven miles before veering off the road into a snowy ditch, where he was found by a snowplow driver who called the police.
“The parents woke up and discovered that the children were missing and that someone had taken off with their car. They were pretty upset, as you can imagine,” a spokesman for the Vest Oppland police district, according to Euro Weekly News.
“The boy told the snowplow driver that he was a dwarf and that he had forgotten his driver’s license at home,” he added.
The children were not injured and the car was not damaged.
“We have talked to them, and I’m pretty sure they’re going to pay very close attention both to their children and to their car keys in the future,” the spokesperson concluded.
No charges will be filed against the boy or his family.
