Top 20 most fuel-efficient AWD SUVs

Mileage: 25 city/31 highway/28 combined mpg
Price: $24,045

The Mazda CX-5 made quite a splash as a versatile, highly fuel-efficient crossover when it dropped in 2012 as a 2013 model. For 2014, the CX-5 gets an optional, more powerful SkyActiv-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine as well as an all-new Smart City Brake Support system. The base engine, a 2.0-liter rated at 155 horsepower, delivers the best mileage, but upgraded variants with the 2.5 liter only drop 1 mpg, returning 24 mpg city/30 mpg highway when equipped with all-wheel-drive.
