If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll know we had the keys to a McLaren 12C Spider yesterday (video and written reviews coming soon!). As it happens, it’s just been revealed that production of this incredible supercar has been temporarily halted (in both coupe and Spider forms) so McLaren can meet the high demand for the recently revealed 650S.
The 650S is essentially a revised version of the 12C. For around £20,000 more, it offers P1-inspired styling (which, judging by the comments, you guys aren’t sold on), slightly more power from the 3.8-litre V8, tweaked suspension and more downforce from an altered aerodynamic package.
Thanks to the high demand of the 650S, McLaren has paused production of the 12C
The 12C is still available as there are unsold examples knocking about, but a date for production to restart hasn’t been set.
