We already know about the world’s scariest bridges. What about the prettiest?

I am quite partial to the Rainbow Bridge on Donner Pass, up in the California Sierras. You know, the Donner Party place.

It’s not a particularly unusual bridge, at least compared to other 1920s designs. It’s a little stark, a little bare.

But there’s a way that it fits into the landscape, the way that is almost shines against the mountain passes surrounding it.
