There have been so many iconic movie cars over the years that it’s hard to whittle down a list to just 5. However the cars you’ll find below are easily some of the most recognisable and iconic vehicles to have ever graced the big screen. So let’s take a look:
1964 Aston Martin DB5 – Goldfinger There was no other choice for the top spot than the 1964 Aston Martin DB5. The vehicle was made famous by its appearance in “Goldfinger” and has since appeared in 5 other Bond movies, including the latest entry in the series – Skyfall. It’s impossible to overstate just how iconic this car has become and its enduring popularity is evidenced by the fact that one of the Aston Martins to be used in the Bond movies recently sold for $4.6 million.
The Batmobile/Tumbler – The Dark Knight Series The Batmobile has gone through many incarnations since the original Tim Burton movie from 1989. When the series was rebooted in 2005 with “Batman Begins”, the look of the Batmobile, or “Tumbler” as it’s known in the movies, was drastically revamped. Some might argue that the latest version of the Batmobile resembles a tank more than a car, but in any case it’s certainly one of the most famous movie vehicles of the last 10 years.

BMW 750iL – Tomorrow Never Dies One of the most memorable moments in a Bond movie in the last 20 years is in “Tomorrow Never Dies” where Q is showing bond his new vehicle. Not only is the vehicle equipped with machine guns and rockets but most memorably, it can also be remotely controlled by (a now very dated looking) mobile phone. 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 – Back to the Future The DeLorean DMC-12 was made famous worldwide when it was featured in the original “Back to the Future” movie as a converted time machine. The car was perfect for use in a sci-fi film thanks to its radical design and features such as top-opening doors. It also stared in the two sequels to “Back to the Future” which cemented its place as an all-time iconic movie car
1970 Dodge Charger – The Fast and the Furious The 1970 Dodge Charger was already an incredibly sought after vehicle, but after the release of the 2001 movie “The Fast and the Furious”, the desirability of the Charger shot through the roof. Whilst “The Fast and the Furious” is now a franchise, there was something about the original film that made it particularly appealing. The final scene in the original movie is what made the 1970 Dodge Charger such an iconic movie car. Vin Diesel’s character is racing against Paul Walker in one of the n most memorable car races ever committed to film.
