Limited edition 1035hp LaFerrari based Ferrari FXX K race car laps Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit.
Before Ferrari officially announced its race-car version of the LaFerrari hybrid hyper car, rumours speculated that the model would ditch the V12 engine for a modified version of Ferrari’s 1.6-litre turbo V6 Formula One motor.
Were glad those rumours turned out to be false and a naturally aspirated V12 remained at the heart of the FXX K, because not even the latest F1 cars can match the aural lunacy pouring from the exhaust pipes of the latest V12 racer from Maranello.
Combined power output from the musical V12 with electrical assistance is 1035hp – 72hp more than the LaFerrari -, weight is down thanks to a bare-bones interior, and those odd-looking dual rear wings help the FXX K produce 50 per cent more downforce than the car it’s based on.
Now, listen to it turn petrol into rather loud noises – it’s FxxKing fantastic (yes, we went there).
