New hybrid hypercar Ferrari LaFerrari faces off against the mighty Bugatti Veyron in a viral video LaFerrari vs Bugatti Veyron drag race.
If it’s to be believed that these new-age hybrid supercars are really better than the old-fashioned gas guzzlers that preceded them, they have to at least be faster. While the Bugatti Veyron still holds the record for the fastest production car in the world, it takes the old girl a long time and a lot of space to reach that mind-boggling 267mph velocity.
The Veyron in this particular video isn’t the world record spec car, it’s the lesser 1001hp variant that originally set the 252mph record. Still, that should be enough to see off a pesky Ferrari that uses Prius technology and is only rated at 350km/h, right? Well, it’s not that simple, while the Veyron produces more than the Ferrari’s 963hp from it’s monster 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, it’s significantly heavier and hence shouldn’t be as accelerative. The LaFerrari only takes around 15 seconds to reach 186mph, while the Veyron should take around 20 seconds.
Enough theory, check out the video to see which car wins.
