Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from the BBC’s Top Gear TV program and series 22 has been postponed.
The rumours suggest that Jeremy Clarkson threw a punch at one of the show’s producers after they had a disagreement. Top Gear’s creators have since suspended Clarkson from the show and the BBC has stated that the show will not air this Sunday with the series postponed until further notice.
Clarkson is no stranger to controversy, accused of using the n-word during production in un-aired video last year. Following this incident the presenter was given his final warning and told he would be fired anywhere anytime if he made another offensive remark.
Then there was the whole Argentina scandal which has become something of a running joke throughout this series – watch for the placement of Argentinian flags in all of the episodes, last week’s was on the Stig’s suit. All the presenters and the Top Gear’s producers still claim the plate was not intentional.
Jeremy Clarkson also tweeted last month that he needed a new co-presenter on Top Gear, whether this was a joke or had some genuine meaning behind it is unknown.
“Wanted: new presenter for Top Gear. Applicant should be old, badly dressed and pedantic but capable of getting to work on time,” he wrote.
Despite all the previous dramas though, Top Gear has never been postponed due to conflict. We just hope that it does continue and that we do get to see the LaFerrari vs McLaren P1 vs Porsche 918 test that we were promised would happen in last Sunday’s episode.
