The Toyota Supra driven by the late Paul Walker in the original Fast and Furious movie has sold for $185,000 at auction.

The iconic orange Supra once driven by Paul Walker’s character Brian in the original 2001 The Fast and the Furious movie was sold at auction last weekend. Despite the car being more movie prop that flat-out race car, it sold for a whopping $185,000. Normally, a non-turbo Supra of this kind would only fetch around $10,000 on the used market.

The Supra was used as one of the many stunt cars used during the production of The Fast and the Furious. It featured a stripped out interior, uprated suspension, body kit and roll cage. Like many of the stunt cars used to film the movie, this Supra didn’t feature any engine modifications and was actually the non-turbo base car which only had around 220hp. The NOS system was also only for show and not connected to anything.

Still, it’s unlikely the car’s new owner will use the car for street racing – or racing in general. It’s much more likely to be kept as an investment or a very expensive piece of movie memorabilia.

The latest Fast and Furious 7 movie is still in cinemas and became the fastest movie in history to gross over a $1 billion in revenue. The movie also marked Paul Walker’s final on-screen appearance and features a fitting tribute to the actor who tragically passed away before the movie was complete.
