The Audi R8V10 Puts Lamborghini’s Huracan To Shame.

Is the Lambo really worth an extra $65k?

While staring at the second generation Audi R8 at Geneva last March, we couldn’t help but think that Audi designers didn’t go far enough. They should have taken a more dramatic leap forward styling-wise. It’s not ugly by any means, but the 2017 R8 still looks too much like its predecessor. That being said, it’s wicked fast. In fact, according to Motor Trend it’s the fastest naturally aspirated car to 60 mph the outlet has ever tested. How fast, precisely? Try 2.6 seconds.
Just to compare, the Bugatti Veyron and theMcLaren P1, neither of which are naturally aspirated, make that same sprint to 60 in 2.5 seconds. The LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder do it in 2.4 seconds. So yeah, the new 2017 R8 V10 Plus is seriously fast. But what about its corporate cousin, the Lamborghini Huracan? Well, that’s the thing. It’ll hit 60 mph from a standstill in 2.8 seconds – and costs an additional $65,000. Output? Both the Audi and Lambo share the same 5.2-liter V10 with 602 hp, and yet the Lambo has the worse 0-60 mph speed. Interesting. So if someone just has to have a Lamborghini, the better value here is without question the R8 V10 Plus.
