The Fastest Cars in the World Today

Do you feel the need for speed? Are you captivated by the white-knuckle velocities achieved by sleek and streamlined cars? If so, you are likely interested to know which makes and models are the fastest in existence. Let us take a closer look at a handful of these modern marvels.

The Koeningsegg Agera R

With speeds as fast as 273 miles per hour (439 kilometres per hour), the Agera R certainly deserves to be at the top of this list. Not only is this model extremely beautiful to behold, but the power found underneath the bonnet is just as impressive. The Agera R is able to achieve such speeds thanks to a five-litre turbocharged V8 engine that offers no less than 1,140 horsepower. The vehicle can reach speeds of 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds and 186 miles per hour in a ridiculous 11.7 seconds. If you have the money and are looking to purchase one of the most stunning Formula 1 gifts, the Agera R will not disappoint! You can also hire car insurance too.

The Hennessey Venom GT

Coming in at a close second place is the extremely sexy Hennessey Venom GT. Speeds of up to 270 miles per hour (434 kilometres per hour) are just below those of the Agera R. The Venom GT would appear quite appropriate with Batman behind the wheel due to its sinuous shape and a body that literally hugs the ground. A 7.0-litre V8 turbocharged engine gives this beast all of the power that is required while excellent handling is another feature not to be taken lightly when careening down a quarter-mile track. The Venom GT can be yours for a cool $1.2 million dollars.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Third place is awarded to the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with speeds reaching 268 miles per hour (431 kilometres per hour). Embracing what can only be called a classical racing design, the Super Sport can achieve speeds of 60 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds. While built with racing in mind, the interior of this vehicle is surprisingly luxurious with plenty of head room. At a price of nearly $2 million dollars, this level of luxury is indeed worth the investment.

The 9FF GT9-R

The German car company 9FF has left little to the imagination in terms of speed and handling. While the
GT9-R may not be as recognised as some of the other models mentioned, speeds of 257 miles per hour (413 kilometres per hour) are no laughing matter. The frame and body of the GT9-R are quite similar to Porsche models and this is no mistake, for designers based the original concept off of the Porsche 911. Still, this vehicle is in a class of its own in terms of power, handling and sheer velocity.

These are some of the fastest cars currently available on the marketplace. Although perhaps not entirely suitable for a Sunday drive in the country, their presence within the world of racing has undoubtedly made a lasting impression.
