Best Of The Geneva Motor Show (XCAR)

The Geneva Motor show has undoubtedly been one of the best shows in recent years with a whole line up of fabulous cars taking the stage in a bid to set the car world alight, and they didn’t disappoint  In fact, the show was on fire as we witnessed the battle of the supercars, as the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Lamborghini Veneno all went head to head in Geneva.

Elsewhere, General Motors unveiled the world premiere of its beautiful Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and Toyota’s FT-86 ‘Open’ coupé has been penned as a ‘vision of youthful glamour,’ which both helped set the tone for this year’s motor show.

2013 is certainly shaping up to be the year of the Supercar! And so, on the back of all they Geneva hype, we thought it would be only too fitting to bring to you the exclusive video’s and behind the scenes access from Geneva courtesy of our friend over at XCAR

Corvette Stingray Convertible

Basically the only change is the roof is off as it was actually designed as a convertible in the first place so it keeps all the fabulous specs- same power to weight ratio, 0-62mph in the same time. It’ll keep that lovely 450bhp 6.2-litre V8 that twists out 450lb ft of torque

Toyota’s FT-86 ‘Open’

As Alex says this is a ‘concept’ but how long will it stay a concept. Not that long as after seeing this 197bhp 2.0-litre convertible, as people will be buying it in their droves. They will be mad not to do!

Lamborghini Veneno

Lamborghini unveiled this magnificent 750 hp beast to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The car can go from 0-62 in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 22mph. Only three cars have been made and they have been pre-sold before the show. Alex perfectly sums it up the Veneno in the video, “its f**king mental!”

Rolls Royce Wraith

Rolls Royce didn’t shy away from the glitz and glamour as they unveiled the Rolls Royce Wraith. This car will have a massive V12 engine and the most powerful Rolls Royce ever made and is set to leave the Bentley Continental in its wake. The price is estimated to be around £225,000, well worth it for that ‘twinkly starlight roof’.

McLaren P1

Last but not least we have the McLaren P1 which is a technical masterpiece. I would have one in the blink of an eye, if it were not for the small matter of all that money. The P1 is practically a road-going Formula One car with 903bhp and 664lb ft of torque helping it breeze to 0-62mph takes “less than” three seconds.
