Oh dear, Audi drivers are top of the cheats. J Clarkson always famously said it was the Jaguar driver most likely to cheat but he is proven wrong as Audi drivers are the most likely to have illicit extra-marital affairs, it has been claimed
They have taken the ‘cheaters crown’ from BMW drivers, who were top of the cheats in 2012. What is it about German cars bringing out a more adulterous side. Something in the petrol?
Peugeot drivers, on the other hand, are most likely to behave and stay faithful to their partner. Now, that makes sense, as no one I know ever gets lucky in a Peugeot.
The dating site for married people IllicitEncounters.com conducted the survey and here are the results:
The Cars Driven Most by Cheaters
1. Audi 22.2% have had an affair
2. BMW 13.8%
3. Mercedes-Benz 8.7%
4. Volvo 7.6%
5. Volkswagen 5.7%
Here are the car owners most unlikely to play away from home. French cars taking the top spot. Clearly not enough ‘va va voom’ for some drivers.
The Cars Driven Least by Cheaters
1. Peugeot 0.4%
2. Renault 0.5%
3. Rover 0.5%
4. Skoda 1.1%
5. Hyundai 1.6%
“Cars can reveal a lot about their owners,” Mike Taylor of Illicit Encounters explained. “All the cars in the top five represent our members – they are typically successful, motivated, high-achievers who are less likely to settle for something they find unsatisfying, be it a car or a relationship.”
So there it is folks, the next time you partner says, “I’m just taking the Audi out for a ride,” they might be quite literally going for a ride.
On a similar theme and quite fitting (German car manufacturer) here is the infamous Mercedes banned ‘Not In This Weather’ advert
