Jaguar have built an XFR-S Sportbrake, but weirdly, you or I won’t be able to have one… Probably.
Want a mental Jaguar XFR-S with some extra luggage space to carry some more golf clubs?
Well, sadly, we’ve got bad news. Jaguar have no plans to put their racy wagon into production because apparently customer interest was too low, and according to Jaaaag boss, Adrian Hallmark, “It would be difficult to re-engineer the suspension [of the Sportbrake] for that type of engine”. Which is sad, because an Audi RS6 competitor from Jaguar with that monster supercharged V8 putting out well over 500hp in an unassuming wagon body type would be rather epic.
This test mule, which was caught driving near Jaguar’s Nurburgring test facility, proves that it is possible to build a fast XF wagon. It certainly looks menacing as well with larger air intakes, big wheels, a dirty rear diffuser and quad pipes. However, the car will likely remain a side project to generate interest in the ‘R’ brand while Jaguar’s engineers focus on the company’s upcoming 3 Series rivaling saloon. More spy shots:
