While looking through the World Debut Goodwood Festival images we spotted a very patriotic McLaren 12C GT3, adorned in the Union Jack. Inspired by the recent Olympics and forthcoming Paralympics we decided to find out exactly what this unique version of the McLaren race car represented.
Some might be familiar with the ongoing “GREAT” Campaign launched this year by the Prime Minister’s Office and Department of Culture, Media and Sport. The campaign is designed to “re-affirm Britain’s international reputation and deliver long-term economic benefits though additional trade and education”.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed revealed a much awaited debut of yet another ground-breaking McLaren road car: the 12C Spider. The new, luxury sportscar was driven for the first time by 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button. McLaren then unveiled the “GREAT” 12C GT3 at the event, special edition of the GT3, aimed to demonstrate their support for the “GREAT” campaign. Motorsport fans are encouraged to visit McLaren GT to check out this fantastic GB tribute.
