Porsche is celebrating 60 years of super sports cars with a new exhibition at its museum.
The display will run until March 17, 2014 and enthusiasts will be able to see timeless classics, some of which have never been presented to the public. One of those rare Porsche vehicles on display is the first-ever 550 Spyder to be bought by a private customer, a vehicle that was assigned to racer Kurt Ahrens in January 1955.
Another legendary Porsche joining the exhibition is the 904 Carrera GTS, a model that secured over 300 racing victories from 1963 to the mid-1970s. In addition, the only 911 Turbo RS vehicle in the world is at the Porsche Museum, commissioned by star conductor Herbert von Karajan.
The Porsche Museum is located in Stuttgart, Germany and is opened 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday.
