Volvo team up with DJ trio Swedish House Mafia in latest ad campaign for the new Volvo XC60. A cool Swedish connection that will see Swedish House Mafia feature the new XC60 in their new music video.
A group of talented DJs make up Swedish House Mafia, which include Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, is releasing the song as part of their farewell, having decided to sadly split last year. They have created a unique music video for an unreleased version of its hit song Leave the World Behind and will be the leading theme in Volvo’s exciting upcoming global launch campaign for the XC60.
The XC60 is a small crossover that Volvo says is focused on utility, leaving everyday life behind and getting out of the city for an adventure. The Swedish House Mafia song, Leave the World Behind, represents both the XC60?s nature as well as the group’s exiting the music scene. Oh, and of course there is also the connection of their Swedish heritage, if you already haven’t guessed that. Per Coleo, the Marketing manager at Volvo Cars explains,
“We found a great connection in our joint Scandinavian roots and have built the project around this.”
They have remixed the original house track for a more chilled out version teaming up with Swedish singer Linnéa Martinsson. The collaboration between Volvo and the band works amazingly – the track combined with the XC60 symbolises escapism from the grind of everyday life to a life of serenity in the great outdoors.
“We are so proud to appear in the new version of Leave The World Behind, one of our favourite tracks which we made early in our careers with Laidback Luke, by Lune. Lune has long been a friend and collaborator to us and the team at Volvo presented this beautiful film idea to us filmed in Scandinavia at its most beautiful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it,” announced Swedish House Mafia.
