The Need For Speed series of video games has seen monumental success over the years. Now it’s heading to the big screen with DreamWorks and actor, Aaron Paul, along for the ride.
We’ve all played the awesome Need For Speed video games on XBOX, Playstation and Wii (if you’re a bit lame). In those games we’ve run from the cops, modified cars to ridiculous levels, driven very closely to other road users to gain NOS refills, naturally, and drifted like pros. Now, there’s a Need For Speed movie. And it looks… interesting.
There is of course a load of amazing cars in the film, including the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, McLaren P1, Koenigsegg Agera R and a massively modified Mustang among other insanely fast and expensive cars. In the trailer they’re shown being driven like they’ve been stolen, too, and that sits nicely with us.
As you’d imagine, there’s an abundance of explosion scenes – the trailer is just over a minute long and we counted six different objects on fire… But this movie isn’t just a series of explosion scenes melded together to create a ‘movie’, y’know. No, there’s a plot and everything – a creative one, too. The chaps at DreamWorks say the Need For Speed movie tells the story of a man (played by Aaron Paul) framed for a crime he didn’t commit desperate for revenge… See? Totally original!
Anyway, take a look at the trailer.
Quick warning, watching this trailer could cause you randomly shout “I HAVE THE NEED. THE NEED FOR SPEED!” – don’t watch it in a library… Unless you want to be pelted with books.
The Need For Speed movie will hit cinemas during March next year.
