Ricky Gervais Stars In Hilarious Audi A3 New Car Commercials (VIDEO)

Ricky Gervais Stars In Hilarious Audi A3 New Car Commercials (VIDEO)

The Audi A3 is an awesome car and when put alongside Ricky Gervais in the new Audi A3 commercials, it is pretty funny too. The only way Gervais can work is if he is being ridiculed by American’s and that’s exactly what Audi do well!

What do you think? Does the Audi and Gervais partnership work? Check out the videos below…

Audi has released two new adverts which features Gervais. In the first one of the two, Gervais is seated in a car (obviously the Audi A3) with a little girl  in the backseat. The girl, who referrers to him as ‘Uncle Ricky’, reads out a couple of really mean tweets about the comedian.

When she then asks him what it all means, he simply answers that it means he is “doing something right”. Then the ad ends, and Audi’s tagline rolls out: ‘Whatever you do, stay uncompromised’.

    Very clever.

The second, features Gervais and a few other celebrities, doing a rendition of the ever popular Queen song, ‘We Are The Champions’. Needless to say, this one is just as good and guarantees some laughs as well.

It’s always great to see some really clever advertising from car companies. And these Audi ads are no exception.

Audi Reveals Doberhuahua-Themed Super Bowl Ad For The 2015 A3 (VIDEO)

    Audi A3 Dog Superbowl Commercial

What does the 2015 Audi A3 have to do with a dog? They both star in Audi’s new ad for the Super Bowl taking place next week. We’re not talking any old dog, though. The dog featuring in Audi’s ad is a Doberhuahua, a mixture of a Doberman and a Chihuahua.

The Doberhuahua is the result of a couple wanting two different dogs and compromising on one dog with the combined features of the other two. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, Audi wants to portray to buyers of its new A3 that they won’t have to compromise on anything.

While the ad portrays the Doberhuahua as a little scary, there’s nothing overly ferocious about the A3’s base 1.8-liter TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine–which produces 170 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque–or the optional 2.0-liter version with 220 hp and 258 lb-ft. Both engines comes with a six-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission, and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system is standard.

The base price of $30,795 (including destination), isn’t too scary either. That puts the A3 in the ring with the similarly-sized Mercedes-Benz CLA250, which was the star of its own Super Bowl commercial last year.

On television screens, Audi will compete with Volkswagen and Jaguar, which has drafted its own team of “British Villains” to ensure commercial domination. Oh, and apparently some people will be playing a game of football while all this is going on.

The Big Game kicks off February 2 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Be glad you won’t have to endure the likely cold temperatures, or the post-game traffic.

Audi Are Adding 11 Models to Expand Range by 2020 (PHOTOS)

Audi have made public their aggressive goals to release 11 further models to their range by 2020 in a bid to be selling 2 million vehicles each year in the global market. The current Audi range has 49 models so there is a lot to look forward to over the next 6 years. But what are we likely to see?

    The Audi Q1 Concept

Rumor has it that their will be a number of Audi Q crossover models with the  Q2, Q6, and Q8 set to be produced. We’ve since heard that the Q2, a compact crossover based on the next Volkswagen Polo’s platform, will actually wear a Q1 badge. The Q6 will be based on the next-generation Q5 crossover and will be a coupe-like version of the four-door, more conventional Q5; likewise, the Q8 is expected to be a sleeker, sportier version of the next-generation Audi Q7.

There have also been reports of a possible Audi V4, an MPV-like hatchback that would be based on Volkswagen’s new MQB platform. Audi could also gain a variant of the Volkswagen Up! city car which may be called A0 if it becomes a reality. There have also been musings that the high-tech, ultra-efficient Volkswagen XL1 could spawn a more performance-oriented Audi version, potentially called the XS.

At the 2013 Frankfurt auto show earlier this year, Audi showed two concepts that may reach production, at least in limited numbers. The first was the Audi Sport Quattro Hybrid, a midsize, sporty notchback with a powerful hybrid drivetrain. This vehicle may become a sort of revival of the Audi Quattro from the 1980s, although it may switch out the hybrid system for a more conventional powerplant to save weight. The other Audi concept from Frankfurt, the Nanuk Quattro, was a strange blend of SUV and supercar based on the Italdesign Parcour concept. It may seem far-fetched for this model to go into production, but Audi executives in Frankfurt told us that the concept received strong interest from customers in the Middle East, Russia, and China.

Since Audi is saying the lineup will go from 49 models to 60, we can assume that some of these additions will be new variants of existing models, such as the high-performance Audi RS3 which is expected to join A3 and S3 variants next year. Additionally, given that S and RS versions of existing Q5 and Q3 crossovers already exist, we would bet that Audi is counting high-performance versions of the new Q6 and Q8 in its total of 11 new models.

It will be exciting to see what Audi has in store for us over the next few years.
