Italian car giants revealed the new and improved Ferrari California with the Ferrari California T model at the Geneva Motor Show. With 49% more torque and reduced emmissions…Check it out the video and photos…

The second major update for the convertible Ferrari California model, introduces a new twin-turbocharged V8engine to the range, as well as a significantly re-styled front and rear end. Making its debut at the Geneva motor show, the new California is the first turbocharged Ferrari since the F40.

Ferrari is claiming that the new engine, a 3855cc direct injection V8, has ‘virtually no turbo lag’ thanks to a new Variable Boost Management system, and that it has ‘the most exhilarating soundtrack any turbo has ever yielded’. Torque rises by 49 per cent over the outgoing model, with fuel consumption down by around 15 per cent. Performance is also improved, with 0-62mph coming up in 3.6 seconds (down from 3.8), with a top speed of 196mph (up from 193mph).

Ferrari will build the new engine in the same factory as the twin-turbo Maserati V8, but the company is quick to point out that it’s far from the same engine. Although it undoubtedly has commonality, the engine is slightly larger in capacity, and features a flat-plane crankshaft for optimum performance. Peak power and torque comes much later in the powerband too, with 552bhp at 7500rpm and 557lb ft at 4750rpm. Full engine details will be released at the Geneva motor show.

Gh-Gh-Ghost! Rolls-Royce Teases The New Ghost Ahead of Geneva

The appeal of Rolls-Royce’s Ghost is twofold: one, it’s a Roller, and two, it’s far more inviting to drive than the small house it appears to be lets on. Powered by a fortified variation of BMW’s 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12, it complements the Phantom upper-luxury sedan quite nicely, slotting into the entry-opulent segment somewhere between Bentley’s Flying Spur and Mulsanne. Now, five years into the Ghost’s life, Rolls will introduce a refresh for its most plebeian offering.

Dubbed the Ghost Series II, it’s a slightly modified and updated variation of the current model, and will make its debut at the Geneva auto show in March. This image from Rolls-Royce provides us a glimpse of the redesigned headlights, which now feature a visual step—not unlike the shape of the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s peepers—as well as a slightly more streamlined fascia.

McLaren’s Porsche 911 Rival Takes Shape Through Rumors

We’ve already established that the upcoming Porsche 911 rival from McLaren was going to be called the P13. The car that’s set to cost the equivalent of around £120,000 (€145,500 or $198,900), will come to the table with between 450 – 500 hp sent to the back through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

McLaren’s Porsche 911 Rival Takes Shape Through Rumors

However, since it’s the same 3.8-liter V8 unit that’s used in their other cars, more powerful variants will surely be offered.

British magazine Autocar reported that one of McLaren’s highest-ranking execs, Mike Flewitt, made a claim that the P13 would beat its rivals from Porsche and Ferrari in terms of tech, even though that was never the criticism addressed at for instance the 12C when it was put up against its Italian arch nemesis.
