The supercars of James Bond Spectre (VIDEO)

    James Bond Spectre

Get a glimpse of the awesome car chase scene from the upcoming James Bond Spectre movie featuring the Aston Martin DB10 and Jaguar C-X75.

The latest James Bond movie promises to be absolutely awesome and will hit cinemas later this year. It should be particularly entertaining for car guys (and gals) too, thanks to the awesome cars lined up for the movie. We’ve known for a while that Aston Martin was building a bespoke car for the movie dubbed DB10. It’s a stunning rear-wheel drive coupe that sadly can’t actually be purchased by the public no matter how deep your pockets are. Ten DB10s were built for the movie, some for stunt purposes and others just for glamour shots. Of course, the Aston Martin will be driven by James Bond and while we can tell you it’s powered by a V8 engine, we’re unsure what weapons and other trick devices Bond’s DB10 will be fitted with.

The villain of the movie Mr. Hinx will be driving Jaguar’s C-X75 supercar which was originally a concept which then got very, very close to going into production as a rival to the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and LaFerrari. Jaguar pulled the pin on the stunning supercar at the last minute due to economic woes. Now however, the C-X75 is getting a starring role in Spectre where it will be part of one of the coolest car chases of recent times. The movie role fits perfectly with Jaguar’s new ‘good to be bad’ marketing blabber as it attempts to move very far away from its former slippers and cigars image. And with cars like the new F-Type sports car and XE it appears to be doing a rather good job.

The C-X75 won’t be the only Jaguar Land Rover car in the movie either, with other key characters jumping behind the wheel of a few other JLR specials.

The car chase is held on the historic and clearly quite slippery streets of Rome, and the cars are driven right at the limit sliding their way around the Italian capital.

You can get a behind the scenes look at the Aston Martin DB10 and Jaguar C-X75 car chase in the video below.

Batman v Superman movie: new Batmobile revealed (VIDEO)

    Batmobile

The wild new Batmobile for the upcoming Batman v Superman movie has been revealed in a new viral video.

Good news! There’s a new Batman movie on the way, and that means it will soon be cool to wear black leather attire and a cape again… Um, there’s also a new very exciting looking Batmobile which has been revealed in this short thirty second clip, and it looks angry. Christopher Nolan’s old Tumbler Batmobile has been swapped for a lower, sleeker machine that looks like a Star Wars spaceship on wheels. It’s really cool, and fitted with a pair of forward facing guns to take down the inevitable baddies.

Speaking of villains, we can’t tell you anything more about the upcoming movie apart from the fact that it will also include another old-school superhero in the form of the one and only Superman. Judging by the title ‘Batman v Superman,’ they will probably verse each other in some capacity.

As for the nitty gritty details of the new Batmobile, they’re pretty scarce at the moment as well. The old Tumbler machine was powered by a 5.7-litre Chevy V8 engine producing around 400hp. The new car will probably use a similar drivetrain due to its reliability and cost-effectiveness – they’re probably going to smash a few of these things during filming.

Anyway, check out the short video of the new Batmobile below.

The Fast and Furious Supra is for sale!

    Fast and Furious Supra

One of the original Toyota Supra stunt cars driven by Paul Walker in the first Fast and Furious movie will be auctioned next month.

Get your cheque books ready Fast and Furious movie fans, because one of the franchise’s most iconic cars will soon be auctioned off. That’s right, the original ‘ten second car’ could be yours for what is presumably a rather large sum of money. Driven by Paul Walker’s character Brian in the original The Fast and The Furious movie from 2001, this particular stunt car was used throughout the film – specifically in one of the final scenes where the Supra jumps across a railroad while racing Dom’s Charger.

And while it may have looked extremely fast in the movie, with its scenery blurring nitrous and 22-speed manual gearbox, this Supra isn’t actually very fast. There’s no twin-turbo 2JZ straight six engine under the bonnet, with the stunt car using the less powerful (and cheaper) non-turbo version which delivers just 220hp to the rear wheels. Definitely not enough to keep up with the Ferrari F355 the Supra drags on the way to race wars, or indeed cover the quarter mile in ten seconds. Still, if the lucky new owner were to swap out the aspirated engine for the proper turbo one, they’d have one hell of a car.

The stunt car was built by ‘The Shark Shop’ in California and features a full roll cage, stripped interior, beefed up suspension, heavy duty fuel tank, race seats, body kit and those awesome alloy wheels. In all over fifty stunt cars were built for the film, most of which were wrecked during production.

The car will be sold by Mecum Auction’s 28th Original Spring Classic which is held between the 12th and 17th of May.

The best Paul Walker Fast and Furious cars (VIDEO)

Motoring website Edmunds counts down the top ten greatest Fast and Furious cars driven by Paul Walker.

The Fast and Furious movie franchise has given us some of the greatest and most iconic movie cars of all time since its inception in the year 2000. These movies, the early ones in particular, inspired a generation to start modifying their cars and while not always in good taste it brought modified car culture to the masses.

While Vin Diesel’s character Dom and his legendary Dodge Charger is like the series’ unicorn character – the one that appears in some state or another in every movie – Paul Walker’s character Brian has always driven some truly awesome machines.

Where Diesel’s character is all about old muscle cars and superchargers, Walker’s has a love affair with Japanese turbocharged pocket rockets. The only times he didn’t drive a Jap tuner car is 2 Fast 2 Furious where he swaps his Mitsubishi Evo 7 for a Yenko Camaro for the big jump onto the boat stunt. He also drove a Dodge Charger cop car and a few others.

Paul Walker’s character Brian always had a connection with the Nissan Skyline, which started in 2 fast 2 Furious where his silver R34 GT-R only appears for a few minutes, enough though to cement it in petrol head folklore.

So, which Paul Walker car did Edmunds pick as the greatest of all? Check out the video below.
