2015 Audi TT Teased Ahead Of Geneva Motor Show

2015 Audi TT Teased Ahead Of Geneva Motor Show

Audi’s third-generation TT sports car is gearing up for its world debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month, but these official sketches provide us with our first look at the car’s design. They confirm that Audi’s new TT, which is due in showrooms later this year, as a 2015 model, will feature lines inspired by the original Peter Schreyer-designed icon but with clear influences from Audi’s recentAllroad Shooting Brake concept.

The front end of the 2015 TT features the concept’s horizontal lines, complete with a broad and flat singleframe grille. Audi will offer LED headlights as an option, and on overseas models the automaker’s Matrix Beam technology–where the light beam can be split up–will be offered. At the rear, too, horizontal lines reinforce the wide, sporty look.

The interior of the 2015 TT has also been previewed, with Audi showing off the stylish design during its tech preview at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in January. One thing you’ll notice is the absence of a central display. Audi calls this design the “virtual cockpit,” where most information is presented through a 12.3-inch display located behind the steering wheel.

Underpinning the 2015 TT is the Volkswagen Group’s flexible MQB platform; it’s likely to result in a lighter overall vehicle, which would yield benefits to performance and gas mileage. The lightest version of the current model tips the scales at around 2,800 pounds.

Power in the base model should once again come from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, this time expected to deliver around 220 horsepower. A mid-level TTS will also be included, with this model likely to adopt the 296-horsepower turbo four featured in the upcoming 2015 S3. Though it wasn’t offered for the 2014 model year, we suspect that a high-performance TT RS model will make a return with this new generation, though not at launch.

Audi Unleashes Second Teaser and it Doesn’t Look like the New TT; What is it?

Audi recently teased the revealing of a new model, though they were very evasive in regards to given even the slightest details as to what it is. Now, a second teaser video is out, and this time we decided it was worth pausing and printing the screen, then playing with the brightness and contrast of the shots.
The result is what you see after the virtual jump, a small collection of five photos that show us a car with a Quattro badge and yellow seat backs, but one that according to Audi’s only hint has a number in its name, so it can’t be the production-spec Quattro model or the all-new TT.From the side it looks quite high off the ground, so it could be a new Q-badged model, since the German manufacturer stated its goal of concentrating on expanding its crossover and SUV range.

If you know what the car is or have some better idea than we do, feel free to share in the comments section below. Otherwise, we’re forced to wait until the official reveal of the model, planned for February 12.
