Ferrari celebrates its legendary test driver Dario Benuzzi by tossing him the keys to some of the brand’s most exciting supercars.
This is one of the few times where you’ll see all of Ferrari’s greatest ever hypercars on track at the same time. We’re talking the new boy LaFerrari, legendary Enzo, the amazing F50 and the breathtaking F40 all sharing the Fiorano test track. These are Ferrari’s rarest, most extreme cars ever. They’re poster cars that defined their generations.
The reason Ferrari has decided to crack open the vault and get these four incredible machines is to celebrate its long-serving test driver Dario Benuzzi. Benuzzi has been at Ferrari since 1971 and he’s driven everything from the 288 GTO to the utterly insane FXXK LaFerrari race car. He’s played a crucial role in defining how every Ferrari of the modern era drives, and you’d have to say he’s done a pretty damn good job.
As a thank you to the cool Italian driver, Ferrari let him drive the LaFerrari, Enzo, F50 and F40 on track. Naturally, all cars are finished in Rosso Corsa red. To get those four cars on track at the same time is a proper bucket-list sort of thing and an awesome way to say thank you.
Ballsy Ferrari LaFerrari owner man handles 960hp rear-wheel drive monster wearing worn semi-slicks around a wet Spa race track.
Supercar owners often annoy me. Here’s why; a lot of the time supercars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens are driven by posers around congested cities where you can’t exceed 20mph. These are crazy fast performance cars designed to do well over 200mph, lap race tracks and demolish twisting country roads not sit in traffic on the way to a over-priced cafe that only serves soy-free, wheat-free gypsy nonsense. It’s total nonsense. Instead of lapping the race tracks of the world they’re lapping busy streets revving their engines unnecessarily in neutral to get attention.
And then there’s the problem of driver skill not being as fat as their check book…
However, there are people out there who drive their super fast, super expensive cars properly. The video below shows a bloke in his LaFerrari lapping on of the scariest, fastest and – at the time – wettest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar – Spa in Belgium. Clarkson drove a McLaren P1 in the rain at Spa back when he was still a Top Gear presenter and claimed in typical Clarkson fashion that some pooh may have come out. And that was on normal road tyres designed to be used in the wet.
This chap in his 960hp LaFerrari decided it would be fun to hit the soaked track on a set of worn Pirelli P Zero Corsas – which are pretty much a road-legal semi-slick.
We won’t give the full plot away, but he didn’t crash, made all other cars on track look they were driving in slow motion, and gave many dabs off opposite lock to keep control of the LaFerrari – even through the infamous fast Eau Rouge corner.
At a recent charity event, Jeremy Clarkson claimed he would be sacked by the BBC from his position on Top Gear.
Video footage has emerged of Clarkson making a speech at a recent charity event in the U.K, where he claimed he believed the BBC would sack him following the recent ‘fracas’ with a producer.
It’s been reported Clarkson punched the producer after he became angry over the lack of catering at a shoot location.
At the charity event Clarkson said, “I didn’t foresee my sacking but I would like to do one last lap. So I’ll go down to Surrey and I’ll do one last lap of that track before the f**king bastards sack me.”
“I’ll be a bit tearful when I do it, but f**k it, let’s do it,” he said.
Clarkson then proposed the idea of auctioning off a passenger ride with him as he completed his final lap of the track, which is believed to have raised £100,000 for charity.
“I’ll drive somebody around in whatever I can get hold of. I’m sacked so it’s probably an Austin Maestro. So who knows? But anyway it will be my last ever lap of the Top Gear track,” said Clarkson.
The outcome of the investigation into the Clarkson fracas scandal is expected to be heard next week.
Top Gear will not air this Sunday. You can check out the clip below.
A new trailer for the latest Fast and Furious movie, Furious 7, has been launched ahead of the movie’s premiere on April 3.
There’s not long to go until Fast and Furious 7 hits cinemas. In fact, it’s less than a month away and set for its big-screen premiere on April 3, and this latest trailer video gives us our best glimpse yet at the presumably far-fetched but brilliant Furious 7 plot, and some of the cars.
We’re pretty sure that a significant portion of the film will be played out around the wealthy supercar-congested suburbs of Abu Dhabi, judging by the previous trailers. However, this latest one is less about the scenery and more about the squad driving a group of hotted-up cars out of a flying cargo jet thousands of feet above the ground.
Cars include a Dodge Charger piloted by Dom (it wouldn’t be a Fast and Furious movie without the Charger, would it?), a last-gen Subaru Impreza WRX STI driven by the late Paul Walker’s character Brian plus a new Dodge Challenger coupe, a large nondescript armoured truck and an old Chevrolet Camaro driven by a petrified Roman (Tyrese Gibson’s character). And naturally, the only logical way to transport these vehicles and their driver’s from the plane to the ground is via air drop. No it doesn’t make sense, but it should make for some exceptional viewing once the movie launches.
The main characters that aren’t pictured in this trailer are the police chief played by the enormous Rock, and the baddie in the film played by Brit Jason Stratham. It’s believed the film will start in Tokyo at the scene of the shunt shown in 2003’s Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift where Han dies. Apparently Stratham’s character is responsible for the death and was fuelled by anger over the death of his brother caused by Dom and the crew in the last Fast and Furious movie. It’s all a bit complicated but this is the movie that will finally make sense of Tokyo Drift, probably.
Four-time Formula 1 world champion and Ferrari driver, Sebastian Vettel, hits the track in Ferrari’s new track-only LaFerrari based FXX K racer.
One of the perks of being a Ferrari Formula 1 driver is the company car you get to drive around in. While driving for Infiniti Redbull racing between 2010 and 2014 where Vettel secured four world championship titles, he had a choice of Infiniti vehicles and flavoured energy drinks to take home of an evening, now though at Ferrari, the German driver can pick from a selection of the world’s best supercars.
The promotional work isn’t too bad either. At is old team Vettel had to give a smile while sipping from a can of Redbull that probably isn’t ideal for an F1 ace’s diet, and he was also Infiniti’s ‘director of performance’ – whatever that means. This year, however, the Ferrari execs have much simpler public relations plans for Vettel – hop in our fastest and most powerful track-day weapon and spank it around our Fiorano test track for a few laps, and smile for the camera if you wouldn’t mind…
The video below shows the four-time world champ getting stuck in behind the wheel of Ferrari’s ferocious 1036hp LaFerrari-based hybrid rocket ship. It’s a super-exclusive track-only machine that Ferrari won’t actually even let you bring home. It’s kept at Ferrari’s HQ, probably in a maximum security shed somewhere, and will be delivered to your desired racing circuit whenever you feel the urge to wreck some slick tyres and burn a few gallons of race fuel. This is Ferrari’s most mental creation to date.
Dubai police hits the streets in its supercar fleet, including a Bugatti Veyron and Nissan GT-R, in viral video.
It’s well documented that the Dubai police force doesn’t patrol in the usual fleet of low-powered inexpensive poverty mobiles. Instead of the usual rubbish, the Dubai cops cruise the luxurious city’s streets in some of the fastest and coolest supercars in the world, including a Nissan GT-R, McLaren 12C, Ferrari FF, G63 AMG and Bugatti Veyron. Originally it was thought that the police Veyron was a photoshopped fake, but this latest video posted on the Dubai force’s Youtube channel, proves that it is actually completely legit. The video is a bit of showing off from well-funded Dubai rozzers, but is a rather cool bit of filming that shows a heap of very fast and expensive supercars roaming the streets of a rather cool city. It almost looks like a trailer for a cool car movie. Check it out.
New trailer for seventh instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise, Furious 7, show’s Paul Walker’s last scenes.
As it turns out, the Furious 7 trailer shown during the Superbowl earlier this week was just a teaser for this latest three minute long theatrical trailer which is jam packed with crazy physics-defying stunts, angry cars, many explosions and intense one-liners.
The cast of the seventh installment in the Fast and Furious movie franchise includes all the usual suspects including Vin Diesel as ‘Dom’ and the late Paul Walker as ‘Brian’, while The Rock returns and British action hero Jason Stratham stars as the villain of the movie playing the character ‘Ian Shaw’ who is the brother of ‘Owen Shaw’ who was killed in Fast and Furious 6 by Dom and The Rock’s character.
From what we can tell, the movie will kick off from where Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift ended, as it’s Stratham’s character who is responsible for the death of Han – incase you’ve forgotten his mint Mazda RX-7 drift car was tee-boned in Tokyo Drift while being chased by the Japanese mafia.
Despite the connection with Tokyo Drift, the latest movie is expected to use Abu Dhabi as its main film location which will play host to a number of physics-bending action scenes, including one where Dom crashes a supercar through one sky scraper and into another… Watch the trailer and you’ll get what I mean.
If this quick teaser video is anything to go by, the new Ford Focus RS could be the new hot hatch drift king.
Ford will soon launch the new generation Focus RS hyper hatch, which will sit above the existing Focus ST and compete with cars like the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, Audi RS3 and Volkswagen Golf R. You’ll have noticed that all the cars listed are all-wheel drive and traditionally the Focus RS has been a strictly front-drive only affair. However, it’s believed this new version will break the mold and send its power to both ends and for the first time be offered only in five-door form.
The new Focus RS is expected to use the new 2.3-litre Ecoboost turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Mustang Ecoboost with an output approaching 350hp – the four-cylinder Mustang makes 310hp. As with the Focus ST, the new RS will likely only be available in six-speed manual guise and should feature bespoke suspension componentry and tuning compared to the lesser ST variants. The teaser video below shows the new Focus RS being thrown around race track and there’s plenty of tail-out oversteer which suggests the new RS will retain the entertaining chassis balance of the Focus and Fiesta ST models, but should pack a chunk more grip thanks to bigger and stickier tyres and, potentially, an all-wheel drive system. The new Ford Focus RS will be revealed on February 3.
Missed the An Evening with Top Gear series 22 preview with Clarkson, Hammond and May? Fear not, we have the full video here.
Top Gear are really sprucing up their new series, which will begin this Sunday. There have been several trailers, including that hilarious Lego video, and a couple of days ago the three hosts got together with a slightly annoying talk show host to banter, answer questions from fans and discuss the upcoming series. The whole thing went for nearly an hour and was live streamed across the world on Youtube. Problem is, some countries weren’t allowed to see it live, or due to time zone science it was shown at some ridiculous hour of the morning.
However, the whole video has since been uploaded to the Top Gear Youtube channel so anyone with access to the Internet can see what unfolded at the Evening with Top Gear show and get a glimpse at some of the films that will be part of the show’s 22nd series and Hammond stranded on a freezing cold Canadian mountain….
Lamborghini Huracan supercar driver demonstrates why it’s not a good idea to do big speed on the public road in chilling viral crash video.
They say the only place where you can really safely stretch the legs of a high horsepower supercar is at a race track, drag strip or runway should you have the funds to hire an airport for the day… Yes, technically you could visit a country that doesn’t have speed limits on certain roads like Germany or Italy, but it’s still pretty sketchy doing over 200mph on a road shared with other cars, trucks and people. At 200mph the closing speed between you and a car that might want to pop out to the outside lane to overtake the dawdler doing 60mph is still a staggering 140mph. You’re almost covering 100 meters every second, the speed is incredible and most roads and drivers were not designed to deal with cars travelling at such a vast rate of knots.
The video below is proof that even in a fancy new Lamborghini Huracan supercar with all-wheel drive, a double-clutch gearbox and carbon fibre chassis that happily power past 200mph, things can and do go wrong. The chilling video below shows the moments before the bright green Lambo was turned into a pile of metallic mush as its pilot pushed the car up to 330km/h (205mph) on Hungary’s M7 highway. The video ends when the car seems to strike some quite severe bumps in the road which cause it to lose grip and collide with some metal before the video ends and the aftermath images commence.
Fortunately there were no fatalities in the accident, apart from the Huracan which was a total write off, though it’s believed the person filming from the passenger seat suffered serious injuries.
Lesson: stay safe out there. You can check out the full video below.
Listen to the new Ford GT supercar startup and rev at the 2015 Detroit motor show.
Ford wowed crowds at the 2015 Detroit motor show when it unveiled its new Ford GT supercar – a mid-engine successor to the 2005 Ford GT and the GT40 Le Mans winning racecars from the late 1960s. The car features a carbon fibre intensive structure and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with rear wheel drive but perhaps most surprising is that the GT does not have a V8 engine. Instead, Ford is using the new halo supercar to leverage its Ecoboost engine technology, meaning the GT is fitted with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which develops over 600hp. A similar Ecoboost motor is fitted to the new F150 Raptor, which also made its public debut in Detroit this week.
Naturally, some people may be worried that the V6 engine won’t be able to match the character and sound of the supercharged V8 used by the old GT. But this video proves that while the new GT doesn’t sound like a bent eight, it does have it’s own unique sound that should still be appealing to enthusiasts. Not only does the turbo motor sound angry and obviously performance focused, there’s some brilliant turbo whirs and whistles to accompany the six-cylinder snarl.
Check out the video below to hear the Ford GT come to life and rev, curtesy of Youtuber Subaruwrxfan.
Xbox and Turn 10 Studios announce Forza 6 with the new Ford GT supercar the cover car.
While the stunning new Ford GT supercar was being unveiled at the 2015 Detroit motor show this week, Xbox quietly announced its new Forza 6 motorsport simulator title. And it’s that incredible mid-engine supercar that will be the cover star of the new game, which is tipped to arrive in stores towards the end of this year.
Other car details are scarce, but we do know that all of the Ford performance vehicles will be available, including the new GT350R Mustang track warrior and the all-terrain crushing F150 Raptor. Cars like the Focus ST and Fiesta ST are also expected with the upcoming Focus RS possibly being part of the game too.
Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios, said: “Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers.”
More Forza 6 game details will become available at the E3 gaming convention in June.
America’s most powerful production muscle car, the 707hp Challenger Hellcat takes on a fighter jet in an epic race down the runway.
It’s the classic fast car versus some other kind of vehicle race, only the other vehicle isn’t a motorcycle or a boat or even a helicopter. No, the other vehicle is a deadly F16 fighter jet flown by one of the handiest pilots in the business.
The Challenger is the most powerful production muscle car in the world and its mental 6.2-litre supercharged V8 develops a staggering 707hp. SRT claim the Hellcat can hit 60mph in the low three seconds range and cover the quarter mile in a scarcely believable 10.8 seconds. This is a ten second car that you can buy from any Dodge dealership for less than $60,000 with a warranty. They say it even handles relatively well, but lets be honest, the Hellcat is all about going in a straight line fast. Really fast. Which is why the people at Road and Track magazine had a Challenger Hellcat delivered to an airport in Miami to see whether the mighty muscle car would stand a chance against the king of the skies – the F16.
Check out the video to see which high horsepower monster comes out on top.
New burnout world record set at Australia’s Summernats festival of horsepower.
Australia is known for a couple of things – being populated by convicts, housing many dangerous animals, and having a strong hatred for tyres. Burnouts are in the Australian blood.
The Aussies already held the world record for the most cars simultaneously doing burnouts, but on new year’s day 2015 they broke the pre-existing record as 103 cars turned rubber into smoke in the capital of Australia.
Extreme new 691hp Tesla Model S P85D takes on the Ferrari 458 supercar in a drag race.
We know what the new all-paw Tesla Model S P85D can do to a Ferrari 575 when its accelerator pedal is mashed into the carpet, but how about the newer and more powerful mid-engine 458?
The Ferrari 458 is powered by a 570hp 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine with rear-wheel drive while the Tesla features four electric motors to deliver a whopping 691hp. Which will win? Watch the video below.
Yes, the Italian petrol-guzzler won but the Tesla didn’t do too poorly at all. The electric all-wheel drive super sedan leaped ahead of the Ferrari instantly and stayed several car lengths ahead until the two cars were well into triple digit speeds. So unless you’re on a race track or a road without speed limits, the Tesla is the faster car.
New high performance Range Rover SUV gets sideways in latest promo video.
Land Rover is about to launch its most powerful and dynamic model ever in the form of the new Range Rover Sport SVR – a supercharged apartment building on wheels that is claimed to handle like a sports car.
Built as a rival to the ballistic performance SUVs from BMW M, AMG and Porsche, the new Range Rover packs 550hp and can hit 62mph in 4.7 seconds. And because the V8 is taken straight from the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, it sounds exceptionally naughty with all kinds of exhaust crackles and pops which we must remember are falling out of the back of a seven-seat family SUV – the whole idea is hilarious.
The idea of a seven-seater also being able to drift around a racetrack is a similarly entertaining one. The big boxy Range Rover looks quite absurd sliding around a corner with an arm full of opposite lock dialed up, but you do have to admire the team that have worked on the new SVR for having a sense of humor and engineering that kind of adjustability into a luxury SUV. I mean, realistically who’s going to drift their SUV during the school run or during a trip to the shops for milk and biscuits? And who’s actually going to take their Range Rover to a racetrack? Surely if you can afford to buy the range-topping SVR, you can afford a Porsche or something else a bit handy at track-work… Anyway, enjoy the Range Rover Sport SVR doing some skids.
Lotus F1 team and Romain Grosjean team up with DJ David Guetta for new music video.
Music videos these days are becoming ridiculous quite frankly. Look up Anaconda by Niki Minaj – or don’t and save yourself three minutes of wondering how one’s bottom becomes so disproportionately large. There’s no real story line or meaning behind the video, it’s all about getting attention and for all the wrong reasons.
Anyway, we’ve got slightly off topic here. Because, French DJ David Guetta has a new music video out and it’s about F1 racing – or at least it seems to be, Lotus F1 driver Romain Grosjean drives his race car in it and everything! Predictably, teammate Pastor Maldonado does not feature in the clip, presumably he crashed his car in practice before filming begun.
Hilarious Tesla Model S review includes p*rn viewing and an Asian guy trapped in the trunk.
How does one review a car when they’re intoxicated and therefore unable to drive? Get a sober guy to pilot while you and your drunk mate conduct a highly informative, scientific and completely serious car review… Sort of.
Naturally, the intoxicated chaps were drawn to the massive iPad-like touch-screen fitted to the Tesla Model S dashboard which can be used as a web browser and therefore can be used to view Youtube, or another kind of tube which is a bit dirtier.
Words cannot describe how much of a hilarious shambles this car review video is, so just sit back and watch…
Chris Harris went on holiday to Australia and couldn’t resist sampling some of the local produce. Enter 577hp HSV Maloo ute.
I suppose we ought to figure out whether we’re going to call it a ute or a pick up, right? Well, it’s not American or very truck-like and it’s made in Australia. So that’d be a ute then. There settled that, now more about this mental green machine.
It’s Australian so it must have a massive V8, right? Indeed, the Maloo GTS is fitted with the 6.2-litre supercharged V8 from the Camaro ZL1 which means 577hp through the rear wheels that, unless you shove a sheep in the back, have barely any weight over them. Still, it’s got sticky Continental tyres, a limited slip differential and a monster set of stoppers.
It may have started out life as a piece of farm machinery, but this HSV Maloo ute will hit 62mph in about 4.4 seconds – the same as a BMW M5. This green meanie is the fastest pick up in the world and it could only come from Australia.
Apart from the transmission which is either a six-speed manual or torque converter auto, the whole package is actually rather sophisticated. Seriously! Even Chris Harris thinks so…
Updates coming for Grand Theft Auto 5 this Christmas with new online heist missions and more.
Online info leaker and game geek, NillxModz, has word that two updates will be released for GTA 5 on December 23, bringing new online heist missions and Christmas-themed content.
The Heist DLC will bring six new heist missions and five ‘cops and crooks’ missions held in four different locations across Los Santos. With a new layout and selection menu, it will also be simpler to track uncompleted missions and leaders. The update will also bring four new cars which are tipped to be in the Sport and Classic Sport class, though the names of these new rides are unconfirmed.
The Holiday DLC is all about getting in the Christmas spirit with holiday-themed clothing, car customizations and bonuses which will become available on Christmas day. Similar to last year, there will also be a snow effect which will begin at 5am UTC on December 25, initially with light snow then the roads will ice up which should make driving very interesting indeed. The snow will only last one day, and things will begin to return to normal the day after Christmas. A new apartment will also be available for purchase from Christmas day and will come decked out with Christmas tree and stockings until January 7 when it will return to normal.
Top Gear will soon return to TV with the two-part Patagonia special set to air on December 27, and here’s the first trailer!
Clarkson, Hammond and May will attempt a 1600-mile road trip through Patagonia in three questionably reliable sports cars, including an old Ford Mustang, a Lotus Esprit and Porsche 928.
You’ve no doubt already heard about the series of events that unfolded during the trip which ended with the Top Gear crew being chased out of Argentina because the number plates fitted to one of the cars was interpreted as a reference to the Falklands War.
Of course, Top Gear is intended to be a comedy show and has been known to push the boundaries with its sometimes crude sense of humor, though the show’s producers and its presenters have all insisted the plate was not used on purpose as an attempt at humor. And in fact, none of the Top Gear team even realized the plate made reference to the war.
Chris Harris takes a look at Ken Block’s wild Gymkhana 7 car, the custom-built 845hp all-wheel drive 1965 Ford Mustang.
From the outside the 1965 Mustang used by Ken Block in his latest viral video sensation, Gymkhana 7 Wild in the Streets of L.A, may look like any other slammed and stickered pony car.
But actually apart from the doors and roof, the Hoonicorn RTR as Ken calls it, is completely bespoke. It’s a custom-built race car which has been made to slightly resemble an old Mustang. This beast has about as much in common with a ’65 Mustang as a Ford Nascar racer has in common with an Ecoboost Fusion sedan.
It uses a bespoke tubular chassis built especially for Ken Block by ASD Motorsports and most of the body panels are made from carbon fiber.
The motor is a screaming 6.7-litre (410 cubic inch) Ford V8 pumping out 845hp and 720lb.ft of torque, which hits the ground through a six-speed sequential gearbox and extremely complicated all-wheel drive system that makes sliding backwards possible – somehow.
Ken Block describes the creation as part WRC car, part DTM racer and part Hot Wheels play-thing.
Now, enough jabbering from me, here’s Chris Harris:
The first of Lamborghini’s stunning, over-the-top Veneno Roadsters has been delivered to a customer in Frankfurt, Germany. These photos show the car, painted in a liquid gloss black with matte gray and bright red accents.
Undeniably extreme in its design, the Veneno Roadster is not for everyone. Futuristic road-going jet fighters are, by nature, not everyone’s cup of tea.
This owner, however, is likely to be the envy of many, as only 9 of the Roadsters will be built and sold for private use. Collectors, Lamborghini fans, and kids with posters on their walls the world over will merely have to look on and wish, while this lucky German will get to experience the real thing.
Ken Block and his Ford Fiesta have certainly made a name for themselves; and it seems the next move is a video in the famous Gymkhana style.
But Ken Block will be joined by a number of other famous drivers, including Adrian Zaugg and Mike Rockenfeller; so it’s sure to be a star-studded video.
Combining his usual style with a TRON-like neon laser appearance, it looks epic.
Awaiting the full video to drop May 27. For now, see the previews below.
When you’re out of luck and have an old car you want to get rid of, what do you do? eBay? Stick it in the local paper? This guy chose to make his own hilarious advert.
And all that hard work appears to be paying off, as the video has gone viral. It’s certainly one way to make a sub-par car enticing.
Touted as “a masterpiece of kinetic energy, of dynamics, and mechanics”, you’d have to be a fool to not consider buying his Volvo. The car is also “sprung from the hands of engineering wizards from a bygone era”, which makes it pretty much a done deal.
Be sure to check the video out below; it could be the car for you.
Subaru’s all-new 2015 WRX and its more extreme STI variant are fun behind the wheel, but they’re incredibly safe as well. The cars have just been rated Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) after the institute’s latest round of crash testing, meaning they scored the highest ratings in all of the various crashworthiness tests including the new small overlap front test.
Other tests include moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The speeds at which the tests are conducted vary between 20 and 40 mph. However, in the roof strength test, which simulates a rollover, a metal plate is pushed against one side of a roof at a constant speed. To earn a good rating, the roof must withstand a force of four times the vehicle’s weight before reaching five inches of crush.
According to the testers, the structure of the 2015 WRX held up well in all the tests and the driver’s space was maintained as well. The dummy’s movement was well-controlled, and measures taken from the dummy indicated a low risk of any significant injuries.
Cars and sinkholes really do not mix. That much became clear when the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky lost eight rare Chevy Corvettes to a sinkhole back in December–and now a street in Baltimore has swallowed several more vehicles.
Days of heavy rain is thought to be responsible for the sinkhole, which spanned a whole city block and has forced the evacuation of homes facing the street. This video, from YouTube user ToddTesla, shows the hole during its formation (be sure to watch right to the end). Several members of the public witnessed vehicles, trees, street lamps and roadway falling crashing down onto railroad tracks below.
Residents could be forced out of their homes for up to 40 days, while the damage is assessed and the area made safe. The local fire department reports no fatalities or injuries–but residents say the street has been a subject of concern for some time now. Emergency crews are recovering any cars left teetering on the edge, but other residents will be left counting the cost of their vehicles, as many have plunged into the rocky, muddy ditch left by the sinkhole like the ones in this clip.
After attempting to show off with some pretty lackluster driving skills, this Koenigsegg driver plows straight into the spectators at the side of the track.
This took place during Gran Turismo Polonia, having regained control of his car, only to lose it again. Perhaps he shouldn’t be allowed to drive the awesome Koenigsegg CCX.
It’s hard to believe this isn’t something straight out of a video game. Be warned; it’s not for the faint hearted, with spectators injured and at least 4 in critical condition.
“All guns and no girls makes a Russian a dull boy”. There’s certainly nothing dull about this video
Is this really a typical Monday? Because it looks like one hell of a day with Dan Bilzerian that FPSRussia got to spend with him. A truck, a tank, guns, and women?
It seems all that poker playing, and the odd movie role, really had paid off. A lucky guy, indeed.
This peek around the Lykan Hypersport, the most expensive car in the world from W Motors, shows off how it achieved this title.
It is the first supercar to be produced in the Middle East, and they are not holding off on any accounts. And by only producing 7 cars in total, it’s sure to be a rare sight. It will only set you back a cool $3.4 million.
With diamonds in it’s headlights, and titanium LED blades in the front lights. Is that overkill?
There’s no doubting the power of the car however; sporting a 3.7L engine producing 740hp and 960nm, managing to achieve a top speed of 240 mph, with 0-60 mph coming in at 2.8 seconds. Impressive.
But enough of describing; now you must see for yourself. Take a tour of the car, and see what you think. Is it worth that kind of money?
“The first Honda you can build at home”. Or so it seemed.
In an elaborate April Fools video, Honda explored how you could create your own car from home, just in case you’re too hipster to drive one of those pre-made, mainstream car.
The amusing commercial is definitely worth a watch, even if you’re left disappointed you couldn’t actually build your own Honda. Perhaps, in time… I’d buy one.
Those Russians do get up to some amusing antics. In this video, some guys think it would be a great idea to use a bus to tow their car. How could that possibly go wrong?
It seems the answer, is in a great many ways. I’d say it’s an understatement to call this a massive fail in every single way.
Here’s the video, just try and ignore the chortling girls in the background
It seems Zenvo are not only set on burning rubber.
The Danish brand Zenvo started producing this very exclusive car in 2009, and recently, Jeremy Clarkson got his hands on it. So naturally, in classic Top Gear style, it caught fire. Yikes.
No biggie though. It only costs a cool $1.8 million. I’m sure there’s plenty where that came from. Oh, wait…
Production of the car is limited to only 3 a year, with only 15 being built for approved customers; and it seems the world has already lost one of them.
Mercedes-Benz has given the long awaited S Class Coupe it’s first appearance with the release of an official trailer. Showing off the elegant styling that builds on the sedan, the S-Class Coupe and it’s Swarovski Crystals for headlights is set to make it’s official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. For now hit the videos and photos below for your first look…
Having eight cylinders placed in a vee formation is usually something that is thought of as being an American tradition, but the Europeans do it well too, and have been doing so for decades. They do it differently, but the results are always worth mentioning. Now, I’m m not sure if there’s an actual debate going on as to which Euorpean V8 sounds the best, and there are really a lot to choose from. However, most have now migrated into the realm of turbocharging, and while that has all sorts of benefits for everything but throttle response, it also has a habit of killing any kind of rasp in the exhaust…
The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is the ultimate high-performance version of the latest WRX all-wheel-drive compact sedan. It boosts the power, refines the standard all-wheel-drive system, and adds new aerodynamic design features to distinguish it from the standard WRX. The STI is really Subaru’s performance flagship, and the company is also offering a special version known as the STI Launch Edition, limited to production of 1,000 units.
For 2015, the new STI is built on a stiffer chassis and hits the road with a new wide-body design and interior upgrades that include Alcantara upholstery. What Subaru calls a “nose cone” frontal design combines the front bumper and grille into a single unit, framed by narrow headlights with LED low beams. The hood is made of aluminum to reduce weight, and its scoop feeds air to the turbo intercooler. The hood is one of many body panels and components distinct to the STI model, including the fenders, doors, quarter panels, bumpers, and rear LED taillight clusters. Front fender vents are covered with mesh screens, and the fog lights are surrounded with a pattern reminiscent of carbon fiber. The traditional STI large trunk spoiler finishes off the body.
It’s the powerful engine that makes an STI, in this case an exclusive 305-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter flat four producing 290 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. The turbo is intercooled, and only a single transmission is offered, a reinforced six-speed manual gearbox. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a limited-slip center differential that’s electronically controlled for maximum torque transfer to individual wheels. The torque is nominally split 41 percent to the front wheels, 59 percent to the rears. Side-to-side torque is controlled by limited-slip differentials on the front and rear axles as well.
STI drivers have a great deal of control over the car’s performance characteristics and power delivery to the wheels.
The SI-Drive powertrain management system offers three modes through a rotary dial on the console: the standard Intelligent for normal driving conditions, Sport for sportier characteristics, and Sport Sharp for maximum power and responsiveness from the engine.
The driver also has three different settings for the AWD system that vary the locking behavior of the center differential. Automatic mode allocates the power among wheels based on standard control algorithsm; Manual mode lets the driver opt for one of six locking levels to suit a particular road condition; and a new Active Torque Vectoring mode adds braking pressure to the inside front wheel to provide more neutral cornering. Finally, the Vehicle Dynamics Control traction-control and stability system lets the driver choose how much control is applied, from Normal through to Traction–both of which engage the Active Torque Vectoring–while the Off setting removes intervention by the system altogether.
The STI body shell is stiffened at key locations for greater rigidity, improving the handling and roadholding. It also permits quicker steering that Subaru says was benchmarked against sports cars for responsiveness. The wheel requires just 2.5 turns lock to lock, against 2.8 in the standard WRX. Stiffer springs and a unique front suspension with aluminum lower arms are paired with 18-inch wheels fitted with standard summer performance tires.
Inside the 2015 WRX STI, the cabin is roomier and the dashboard is lower, increasing visibility through a more steeply-raked windshield with thinner pillars. Access is easier, courtesy of wider door openings and lower sills, and rear legroom rises by almost 2 inches. A larger 12-cubic-foot trunk extends into the passenger compartment when the 60/40 split rear seat back is folded down.
Skiers and snowboarders took a backseat last week as some beastly 900hp Pro4 trucks invaded the slopes of Sunday River ski resort for the 2014 Red Bull Frozen Rush event.
Here are the crazy 2014 highlights from the Red Bull Frozen Rush…
If you love cars so much you feel queazy when you see one getting hurt, then you might want to get a barf bag for this one…
God only knows what this poor Viper did to deserve this, but surely it didn’t deserve the death sentence. Especially the death sentence that was as cold hearted and brutal as this.
We have seen how crazy drivers can be in Europe but the drivers in Germany are unsurprisingly efficient, considerate and freaking awesome in the way they react to an ambulance’s siren on the highway.
Drivers all over the world should really take note on how to react to a siren on a highway.
We all love an adrenaline rush but this driver got a little too excited with excited with the gas of the Polaris RZ8 900 ATV which resulted in a huge 5 barrel roll crash!
Luckily both were ok though they would have no doubt picked a fair few bruises, including a big one on the drivers ego.
Scary stuff but both took it very well. Check it out…
When you are dumb enough to steal somebody’s gas and then fill your own car up while lighting a cigarette you deserve this. Karma is a b*tch.

There are ‘No Smoking’ signs around fueling stations for a reason. Gasoline, diesel, and other fuels are flammable, and smoking, keeping your engine running, or even using your cell phone can ignite these liquids. Harry Frederick Suniville is one of those idiots that proved why you don’t smoke while handling fuels.
The 62-year-old Suniville had stolen a partially filled gasoline can from a nearby truck and started to fill his car up while smoking a cigarette. Sounds like a smart idea, right? Unsurprisingly, the gasoline ignited, burning his pants, hair, and Mitsubishi Eclipse like it was some sort of Italian supercar.
The Portland Police and Fire Departments were both called to the scene where Suniville was treated for burns and then charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, reckless burning, and theft in the third degree. Now he’s in jail where he won’t need any gasoline or cigarettes.
This guy had the intentions of showing his Youtube followers how easy it was to steal a car. Turns out, it’s not as easy as he thought as the guy who’s car he stole caught up to him, dragged him out of the car and gave him a slap.
The world is going mad for a prank and to do anything to get youtube views but was this even a prank?
It’s just dumb and inconsiderate and could well have ended up far worse than it actually did.
The guy then even has the cheek to explain why he didn’t fight back! Errrrm… probably because you were the one who tried to steal somebody’s car and probably because you would have got your ass kicked!
2013 has been a year filled with Russian Dashcam videos. So to celebrate our love for the Dashcam and the gasps of shock, horror and bemusement they bring, we have this awesome Russian Car Crash Compilation of 2013.
This is like real life dodgems! The Youtube info attached to this video is also pretty amusing too:
“Nearly 10 minutes of insane Russian drivers. Weird crashes, guns, aggression, bad driving, it’s all in this compilation. All crashes and everything in this video are non-fatal…
… Take this Video as a learning tool. This video is only for educational purposes.
Drive safely and keep yourself and others safe. “
Three words: Russia, Crane and Tank! Yea, that’s what we thought and we immediately skipped to the video…
It doesn’t take a genius to work out what’s going to happen here if you’ve watched some of the videos coming from Mother Russia that car hoots have been putting up recently. (click below now if you haven’t!).
Japan is known for its wacky gameshows and the latest Tire Ski Jump craze has gone viral across internet!
Using 6 different types of tires from regular cars, to sports cars, to formula1 cars and tractors, competitors launch their chosen tires down the ski jumping slope to see who can record the furthest distance!
You never know, this could be the next Olympic sport! We certainly want to give it a try anyway!!
We can’t help but laugh when we watch the hundreds of Van Damme Split Stunt Spoofs, but this Palestinian spoof has a much deeper meaning!
These guys have created the spoof video to generate awareness and send out a message to the world that their country has much bigger problems than buying a Volvo and that ‘Vanne Damme isn’t better than them… There is just no gas in town!”
It is clever and it definitely opens our eyes and puts things into perspective. If you hit the subtitles you will see that these guys don’t have electricity or gas for 12 hours of the day, meaning they miss out on washing and eating at times. Very powerful but also very clever because a man doing splits to the Enya soundtrack will always be funny and always get people listening!
