Top Gear will soon return to TV with the two-part Patagonia special set to air on December 27, and here’s the first trailer!
Clarkson, Hammond and May will attempt a 1600-mile road trip through Patagonia in three questionably reliable sports cars, including an old Ford Mustang, a Lotus Esprit and Porsche 928.
You’ve no doubt already heard about the series of events that unfolded during the trip which ended with the Top Gear crew being chased out of Argentina because the number plates fitted to one of the cars was interpreted as a reference to the Falklands War.
Of course, Top Gear is intended to be a comedy show and has been known to push the boundaries with its sometimes crude sense of humor, though the show’s producers and its presenters have all insisted the plate was not used on purpose as an attempt at humor. And in fact, none of the Top Gear team even realized the plate made reference to the war.
